Saturday 28 April is World Day for Safety and Health at Work & Workers’ Memorial Day. It is an important day to promote safety and health in the workplace, whilst honouring those who have lost their lives from work-related injuries or illnesses.
Stratex is proud to join Safe Work Australia in promoting Generation Safe and Healthy, highlighting the increasing risk of injuries to young workers in the workplace due to lack of experience, maturity, and inability to assess risks. Young workers make up a significant percentage of today’s working population and are valuable to the workforce as they bring fresh ideas, energy and vigour.
As employers, supervisors, and managers, it is important to provide a good influence to younger employees and display safe and healthy work practices at all times. This may be through providing them with the right tools, training and supervision to complete their jobs safely.
However, young workers also have a great responsibility to take care of their own health and safety at work by obeying their superiors and being aware of those around them who may also be at risk of an injury.

This year, Safe Work Australia are focusing on the dangers imposed upon young workers, but this is in no way meant to reduce the importance of safety and health at work on the whole. At Stratex, we are passionate about improving workplaces to ensure every person, young or old, is kept safe and healthy at work every day.
